Default Human..and Wars...

IMO..looking at history, it is in our nature to fight. It is sad but we have been in wars from the earliest history...
I just wanted to see what others think...because i think some people don't agree on Human and wars being linked together...and i was surprised.

It is the nauture of the beast.

What I am against is the U.S. policy of not assasinating other Heads of State. That would be the best way to end a war is to finally run out of the big shots that want to have one. Then again if we lose a few big shots here and there it would be OK too.

Ants and humans are the only 2 species that create wars.

Oh yeah, forgot to answer the original question. . . yes, I believe it is part of human nature to take part in war.

it's not so much human nature, as it is the "rational" thing to do. if you cannot get someone to do something (or not to do something) through reasoning and pleading, then you have to get them to do it (or not to do it) via force, which is basically what war fundamentally is. this is basically the natural progression of events when it comes to dealing with people (even when raising kids). we fisrt try to explain, and reason. if that doesn't work, then we plead. if that doesn't work, then we threaten. and if that still doesn't work, then we physically coerce. there's really no alternative to it, aside from giving in.

Every animal species have "altercations."

What do you think male species fighting over territory or mating rights is? War on a smaller scale me thinks.

IF you consider war as a two groups of entities fighting then maybe it is more rare but if you consider war to be an aggresive act acted out on another entity to produce an outcome then every creature does it.

From M-W:
Main Entry: 1war
Pronunciation: 'wor
Function: noun
Usage: often attributive
Etymology: Middle English werre, from Old North French, of Germanic origin; akin to Old High German werra strife; akin to Old High German werran to confuse
1 a (1) : a state of usually open and declared armed hostile conflict between states or nations (2) : a period of such armed conflict (3) : STATE OF WAR b : the art or science of warfare c (1) obsolete : weapons and equipment for war (2) archaic : soldiers armed and equipped for war
2 a : a state of hostility, conflict, or antagonism b : a struggle or competition between opposing forces or for a particular end

Definition 1 covers our "enlightened" definition but option 2 covers what I believe war to be.

Every living things fights something else for it's survival and well being.

i think, generally, that's what war is: 2 or more groups fighting in an organized (and strategic) fashion.
