Time to face the music.

Not sure how much legal penalty there should be though. Even if he was driving drunk, being broken down in the lane isn't the same as running into someone else.

yeah...that's some bs that the guy left the country. he should be charged with a DUI and probably something more serious for leaving the country...but manslaughter?

the kid was one that crashed into him, from what the story says. if he backed out, then the kid should've seen the reverse lights. though i guess it's possible the first crash damaged the lights...or maybe he backed out really fast. maybe they should charge him with got-hit-and-run.

the guy was drunk... his car didn't break down. he just randomly stopped in the middle of the road and got out is what i was hearing at the office.

manslaughter for sure, he was drunk, parked on the freeway with his lights off. He obviously knew he was at fault not just "broke down".... someone who's car had broke down would turn on the emergency flashers.

The father thinks that the other people at hyundai are liable?

That's ridiculous. If he wins, then a precedent will be set that you can sue the other people who were drinking with someone who caused a DUI.

That makes no sense. Might as well sue the bar and the alcohol company too, since they "contributed" to the accident.

It's tragic to lose someone, and the DUI driver should be punished. But suing everyone else is stupid.

I don't think it's due to the drinking with him as much as it is hindering the investigation after the incident... still sounds like a weak case from the information in the story though.

From the article: "Personally, I feel like Hyundai and its employees were accountable for the events that led up to the accident too."

But I guess he's not suing for that. He just feels that way.

From what I read in the article, it seems like he has a tough case to make. Unless that dude is still working for Hyundai in Korea somewhere (but I doubt it).

Accessory to illegal activities are grounds for litigations.
