LOL BTW, I freaking love the adware installed on this site that is advertising for Hyundai as I am reading about this scandal. I just got a pop-up for an Azera. Wooooo...makes me want to buy it.

Given the burden of proof in civil litigation compared to a criminal court, and the general (and deserved) lack of sympathy people have for drunk drivers, I think these Hyundai execs are 'ed, royaly. The rampant anti-immigrant sentiment in America, and the fact he fled the country don't help anyone, either.

Every Korean I know drives drunk. Not that all Koreans do; not that other races don't, but if you have Korean friends you have to admit that they like to go to K-town, get drunk and they usually drive themselves home with designating a driver (unless someone is obviously not fit to drive).

why do you say immigrants do not and deserve no sympathy? looks like you just put drunk driver and immigrants in the same gategory - 2nd class cititzen. I can't tell if it's just an immature or radical nationalism.

sounds like to me hyundai is just kicking balls around, the guy has left the country, so CHP and police department can't do anything about it, then hyundai execs just claimed the guy left the country on his own, deny responsibility.
I will not be surprised if the guy is still working for hyundai. is an immigrant.

That's ridiculous. If he wins, then a precedent will be set that you can sue the other people who were drinking with someone who caused a DUI.
I think this is the case in Japan. Anyone associated with the DUI driver at the time of the offence is in trouble also.
