Now I am scared to get the surgery. I am in the office 12 to 14 hours a day. It's a great job, im good at it thank god and all. But I am in front of 15" screen at 1280by1024 resolution screen. My vision has declines since ive been doing this dramatically. I am near sited now.
Argh!!
Should I take my 21" wide Screen monitor to work, wtf should I do. My vision.. MY VISION!!

I agree with S2020, why not just get specs? Lasix isn't permanent anyway..
In the meantime a larger monitor wouldn't hurt, maybe you can fenagle an extra 15" screen/vid card from the some obsolete or underused computers in the 'supply room' and set yourself up with two screens running at a lower overall resolution?
If you've managed to make yourself indispensable in your workplace you should be able to talk management into acquiring a larger screen for you too. (Or perhaps a telecommuting position where you can use the superior hardware you have at home)
If worse comes to worse, and the job is worth it, buying your own big screen for work may be your only option aside from the sugery.
Good luck, HTH

wow, I remeber getting mine done three years ago. It's interesting to watch it from the other view. funny thing is I though my surgery went super fast, even though I did both eyes together. This video made it seem really long.

seriously...... I had -8.0 diopetors (I can't spell) and am now at 20/20 in both eyes as long as i keep them wet. It has been a little annoying having to put drops in every hour or two, but supposedly I will not have to do that with time.

It's funny how most work places fear liability with employees by getting ergonomic keyboards/holders and chairs. Yet, they forget to upgrade the monitors for your damn eyes! Well, I don't have this problem at work and I suggest you talk to HR. Maybe they can help you out. Good luck.
