It takes a considerable amount of psychological effort to realize that you may be listening to a particular set of information because it is what you want to hear.

I read the thread. While "Chi-comms" is a pejorative term especially popularized by Mr. Limbaugh, its used to express distrust of the Chinese government and their motives. I don't see why that would make you blow a gasket and find that it was somehow racist. (but I don't trust the Chinese goverment or their motives.)

Secondly, you post as much distrust or dislike for religion or religious people as GP posts about the Chi-comms so going off on him would be pot calling the kettle black IMHO.

GPMike likes to get peoples dander up for fun and you took the bait. But on the flip side, you show as much predjudice against a group of people as he does to another.

I'd say just ignore his posts and don't claim to be pious and unbiased yourself. We all have SOME predjudices, but to claim its all other people and not have any yourself would be ridiculous.

 

You don't trust your own government or its motives either.

 

I guess I don't know what that means. I have a healthy amount of skepticism of any government because, well, having worked with politicians from both parties for over 15 years I'd tell you that you would too. Unless you are a true believer type on either side who just spews out talking points, of which there are several in the politics forum.

Either side will do something to screw you and then tell you what you want to hear.

But if this is to suggest I am a black helicopter type, well I am not sure where that comes from but ok.
