I couldn't wait for Best Buy to put a store here...
... until they actually did. When I lived in Baltimore a while ago they used to be the place to go to. Then I moved to Richmond and apparently there was some sort of "gentleman's" agreement that BestBuy would not put any stores in Circuit City's headquarters city (Richmond) as long as the same courtesy was reciprocated to BestBuy. Well, apparently Circuit City broke the agreement first by building a store in Eden Prairie MN so Best Buy immediately put two here. I was extactic to see that this would no longer be a "one-horse" town.
Well, that was the last time I was ecstatic about Best Buy. They are consistantly out of stock - I can think of at least 5 occasions where I wanted to buy something from Best Buy (BB) so I could avoid Circuit City's (CC) pushy salespeople. On all occasions, where they were out of stock at BB, and I was able to get it at CC.
Anyway, to make a long story short, it appears as though BB's problems are much bigger: http://www.bestbuysux.org/index1.html Read some of the employee comments. They all say about the same thing and there are sooooo many of them.
You have got to read some of the employee comments about how BB is pushing the extended protection programs (aka psp). These are generally understood as the worst possible value for the consumer.

Wow! I never have been a fan of Best Buy anyway but that site really makes me not want to go there ever again. Generally it's the last place I go when looking for something, it's so crowded and unorganized it gives me a headache just thinking about it.....
there is a Best Buy not far from where I live.
I think price of stuff in Best Buy are more expensive than many other smaller shop, but they are still in a decent level....too bad they don't have the things I need to buy, at least not in the shop...like a wireless 900MHz headphone...
I may planing to buy a alarm for my s2000 in Best Buy, if they have a decent one in the shop....but I will find other people to do the install instead let Best buy do it.
BTW, there is a Circuit City next to the Best Buy where I live, soon after the Best Buy opened, the Circuit City become very empty...

Yes, BB does suck. Unfortunately, so does CC - similar sites with equally vehement sentiments towards CC do exist. Fry's (FF - I'll let you decide what the extra f is for) is perhaps the worst of the bunch though. GG has fewer detractors, but their prices usually suck... Best thing to do is figure out exactly what you want before shopping, then check rices and availability on their websites (where available). Don't ask the clerk questions, the answers will probably be wrong.
First time I ever got really mad in my life..... was at BB. I was returning some printer ink that I had bought earlier that day. Didn't open it or need it because I found some refill stuff instead. Well unfortunately, the ink cartridge wasn't in the box when I returned it (i.e. it wasn't in the box when I bought it!) So they promptly accused me of trying to return it without the ink cartridge, etc etc... Man I just threw a frickin hissy fit!
