working for best buys
i need a job while going to school. so i just wanted to know if anyone who has worked for them, what your experience was with that company. The positives and negatives.
I had friends who worked there. Pay was shitty from what I heard and they had a ton of those early 7 o clock meetings.
I worked at Circuit City, and they paid better and opened later and closed earlier.

Is that a competitor to Best Buy?

The employee's at Best Buy don't know a thing about electronics. When you talk to them they seem a little...slow.
If you know anything about electronics, you shouldn't be working at a Best Buy. I've talked to probably ten people in five different stores who "specialize" in car audio... ONE of them had heard of Infinity brand speakers. Now, I know you don't carry them... but when you ask what I'm running right now, I say "Infinity Kappa Perfects" and you stare blankly back...
i work for circuit city and as far as i can tell i think its alot better than best buy since we have like 3-4 people who used to work there and they all says its pretty gay just my opinion but not like i can really talk ive only got about another month till i move onto a actual career
This shouldn't take you too long: http://bestbuysux.org/comments.html

. Go for it!!
best buy sucks. i wokred for them throught he christmas season as a cashier and until may in their car audio department. needless to say, it was worth it only in the discounts, but even then most of the stuff you buy you dont need and only buy because you can get it for cheap. both my managers were "less than intelligent", ripped people off shamelessly and failed to train the employees in anything meaningful. i had to train myself in product knowledge and on top of that they indirectly threatened to fire me since my numbers for selling the service and replacemnt plans werent "up to par" despite the fact that i upsold better than the "full timers" trying to hustle the plans on people . numbers mean everything to them and although it is non comission sales, shady practices were abundant (this is car audio only that i know of). while the company worked out fine for a number of people i know, it didnt for me.
