I did not mess with the bird at all, so please don't think that I tortured it or anything. I just hope the eggs hatch soon so I can bbq again.

"Nest abandonment is very common with these birds. If they feel any threat from predators whether human or animal, they may go elsewhere to nest, abandoning eggs and nestlings. Bird watchers need to exercise caution.

"The nest can be found 5-25 feet above the ground, often in the crotch of a shrub or tree. Laying 2 white eggs that are incubated for 14-15 days. The young will leave the nest in 12-14 days"

That's cool, glad you didn't try to move it!

Morning doves are the most docile birds around. I almost ran one over this morning as I went over some railroad tracks on the way to work. I revved my engine to get it run along the ground out of the way but it didn't really respond. So I revved up to about 7k and the thing casually walked off the road.
