Maybe the Postal System has gone down hill, but I used to collect / trade Hot wheels. I have bought / sold / traded well over 1000 times with 1 lost package and even that one I think the other guy just lied.

I have only had 1 package get beat up enough to file for an insurance claim.

Are you kidding me? You Ex-geek! I've looked up some of my childhood toys (Transformers - mid '80s) on ebay. Those mint-condition toys run up to $1000 only.

But you know, it makes you think that if you didn't open up and play with those damn $5.99 toys when you were a kid, you could sell a few "Hot Wheels Super Rare Redline Blue Rodger Dodger" to buy yourself a CF ASM door panel.

When we mailed our wedding invitations out, we had a couple of family members who didn't get their inviation until almost 1 year after the wedding!! The envelopes looked like they had sat in a puddle and been stepped on every day with muddy boots! It did help that they finally arrived, as they were pissed and thought we didn't invite them!!

I needed to make a credit card payment, and I had a day or two to do it. I sent the check First Class Express Super whatever (the fastest available). I was assured that the letter would get there by the deadline. To my dismay, the letter NEVER got there...anywhere. The post office just messed up. I just randomly made a call to the bank to ask about a loan or something and got an ugly response..."Seeing as how you're not paying your bill".

I pay IN FULL, EARLY, EVERY month. This one time I waited and got screwed...Lucky for me, I had the receipt from the post office along with the check # to back up my statement.

Now I do all that crap online.
dude, everytime i get a little late on a payment (which isn't often...i'm not that much of a slacker) i just call the company i'm sending it to and tell them it is in the mail, and i ship it normally. everytime they've said ok, they mark it as in route, and dont worry about it.

to the OP, i've heard that the post office x-rays packages. someone probably saw the iPOD with no insurance and said "score!"

At the time, I was new to credit cards. This was VISA, but the bank handled much of the service. I couldn't pay the bank though. Trust me, it's never happened again.

it is insane.... once in a while someone will stumble accross an unopened pile of 1974 hotwheels that each one is worth over $1k.... purple, pink are the most expensive colors of each care (in general).

I wish my parents had set aside 50 redline hotwheels from that era,....they were like $.49 i think..... so $25.00 then = $50k-100k now.

That's hugely blame on the machines the P.O. uses. if it was handled by hand through sorting, there wouldn't be any problem.

A lot of people that works at the P.O. cares about costumer service, unfortunately, a lot of them does not. It goes for all level of the employee structure.
