I love dog shows, but....
...what is the gig with having to feel up the poor animal before the handler takes it for the run around the ring?
It's like the judge is saying, "This sure is a nice looking dog, let me grab his balls to make sure...!"

The Eukanuba show is on APL right now...and Sondra, the Boxer just won its class. The Golden Retreiver won its class too...both were very beautiful animals...
Then in came the Miniature Poodle. What is the deal with the haircuts these dogs have...!? It's like the owner is saying, "This dog isn't quite ugly enough on its own, let's trim it like topiary and see if that helps things."

Canine ball grabbing aside, the scariest part of the Eukanuba show last night was the Best of Show.

That's scarier than touching dog balls!
That critter is better suited as a mop...just squirt some Mr. Clean on him and tell him to walk around the kitchen or bathroom...and when he's done, just toss the little bastard into the dryer!

It's not a topiary cut. The standard poodle was originally a water dog (retriever) and the cut was to eliminate the weight of wet hair (they do not have fur, hence no shedding), while maintaining body heat in the joints so that they could perform their duties. The mini poodle is just a scaled down version so the cut went along with it....See, there is an explaination for everything...
BTW-One of our standard's best buddy is a boxer. They are great dogs as well.
