Is 80`s Music our (mid-late 20`s) classic rock?

Rule of thumb: take the decade you were born in (say: 1950's) add twenty (1970's) and that's your "classic rock" period. Works every time!

 

I'm in my 30's and still consider the 80's period my classic period. I like a lot of the songs from those days. In fact, that's the majority of the music that I download.

 

I'm with MarkS2K on this one, I know I must be getting older 'cause KTEl puts out records and compiliations that I want, and they contain 80's "newwave" and "modern" rock. Gulp...I guess I am getting older.

 

80s rock are the best.

In 94 I was listening to Hip-hop all the time, I guess it will look strange in 30 years, when I'll be 56, resting in my garden with Public Enemy's "Burn Hollywood, burn" playing loud

 

Tell me about those KTEL compilations. It's scary when I turn on the TV and I can recognize every single song on one of those CDs.

Whats worse is when those 80's music Infomercials come on and I find myself picking up the phone with credit card in hand, dialing "1-800..." Aaaargh!

 

I don't think you're getting old, just shows that you're appreciating proper music genres. I have to agree as well, 80s music is probably the best decade. These days, everything that is played on radio on top40 stations sound like $hit.
