There are always options for 3-5k. That is such a small amount that it makes you query sound ridiculous.

Do you have an S2000? Sell it and keep your butt out of Iraq. You are going to have to sell it anyways if you go.

Care to tell us why you are in debt?

It sounds like some gambling debt come back to collect.

I'd say re-enlist if your in your window, going to Iraq for 5k is not worth it. As for the equipment issue, I wouldn't buy anything. Why buy the equipment if you need the money to get out of your debt.

 

If you are in the reserves and your unit hasn't been called up, why are you considering this? 5k? You are killing me. Any good summer job will net you 5k. Hell a 90 day contracted stint as a gun will get you that every 1.5-2 weeks there.

 

They are not options because my mother took my money when she was POA and did not pay any of my bills with it like she was supposed to and my credit has gone to shit as of late, my father is not around nor are my grand parents and I have a family that no one went to college and all scrape by working 40-60 hours a week. No one in my family is even in the position to co-sign nor are any of my friends. I am 22 and the ones that DO have the money would NOT even consider it, even if they saw a gun to my head... Re-enlistment is not an option, I am just above 2 years in the Army and there is no possability for that especially considering the whole point of me staying here is to contract as a cadet over the next month or two and be in school.

The 3-5,000 is a guestimate but is how much other students have had to pay out because of a link on the schools web site, that said free software and offered a music download thing... they used it and didn't know it was wrong and people where getting nailed left and right for sharing music, they where settling and had to pay up $3k, and some had to pay $5k and within 15 days!!! They go after college kids because they KNOW mommy and daddy will shell out the cash to get em out of it, but they hardly EVER EVER go after people in houses. That is why. If you try and fight it and lose, you face severe financial costs.
