Well, it's been over 10 years since T2... his accent is much more american, so he's probably trying to force the accent back to the Austrian style... must have been one of the first scenes shot in the movie (things you learn about when shooting and making movies... the first scenes shot are the worst, as they are the "feeler" scenes)

No they have not hence James Cameron did not jump on the bandwagon for this one. Arnold tried to get him on board but he wanted the franchise to retire.
