for the mall and parking lots, i've spent many years doing this bs and we just get told to leave and that's it. there's an occaisional ticket for people who park in a handicap but that's about all they can do. and as for gas stations. we used to have a meet at a gas station. there'd be over 50 cars there and occupying the lot beside the gas station and they love it bc we bring them so much bank. I talked to the owner and she said she makes more in the few hours we're there than the rest of the week put together and she hates the cops for making us leave but she has no say in their actions and we really didn't know why the cops kicked us off the property.... just a small story =D

how would the cops possibly be able to justify kicking you off privately owned property without the consent/request of the owner?

first of all, its going to be hard to get pics of anything at 9pm. secondly, i don't know why you'd wanna go cruising so late anyway since the volume of police looking to bug you will have increased exponentially. third, as a car guy i think 10 guys lining their cars up for glamor shots is a pretty ridiculous thing to do.

Some people like to do it

I've seen some nice artistic shots, but like you say, rarely at night. Personally I prefer pictures to document events like big meets, Dragon get-togethers, track days, etc.
