Maybe I'm just having a bad day, but I have grown tiresome of the plethora of idiots out on the public roadways today. Anyone who knows me and driving with me in Chicago, knows how much I despise Chicago cab drivers. They have absolutely NO regard for any rules, safety or even just general kindness.

Well, this epidemic of idiocy seems to be extending into the population at large now. I now find myself using the word idiot (generally with an expelitive immediately before it) so many times while I am driving. It's really pissing me off!!!

Has this edpidemic of idiocy come to your town yet? If not, prepare yourself, it's coming...and when it does, you will feel the way I feel!

Road rage?! You BET! The idiots are pissing me off!!!

So this begs the question...

 

Something small that really annoys me (perhaps more than it should), as it destroys the flow of traffic is that people don't use their turn indicators, you have to wait un-necessarily in intersections and roundabouts and be a mind-reader... It just irritates me... i have been known to shout loud abuse behind my closed windows, and flash the middle finger under the dash board... I'm a coward!

 

I think that applies to those that only flick on their turn signals when they are about to turn. Obviously I would have interpretted your intention by then!

 

just have to say.. that the epidemic has spread across texas.. dallas is the worst place for people that don't use turn signals.. drive the wrong way.. change 5 lanes on the highway w/ out a look.. pull out of parking spaces w/ out looking or out into traffic w/ out looking.. and damn trucks and suv's are rampid around here. the drivers couldn't stay in their lane if they had a normal sized car that fit in a lane.

i honestly think these soccer moms and urban cowboys need to get the same license commerical truck drivers do. before unleashing them on the roads.


houston is just as bad.. actually worse because of the bad drivers + bad (always) underconstruction roads.. that are a gaunlet to get through.


i usually yell at least 1 driver on the way to and from work.. actually had some dumbass give 'i don't give a S***' wave after he cut me off and w/ out a signal and almost clipped my front bumper felt like ripping him out of his truck and giving him a close up view of where those turn signals are..

 

I drive all day for work, Its a wonder I haven't killed anyone yet!

 

Wow, finally a poll worth responding to...Hey Greg, your subject line of "Idiots! Important poll inside" is kind of misleading. Fortunately, I'm an idiot so I found the poll . The more intelligent from our board may not find it deciding that it isn't intended for them which may skew the results...

 

LOL I guess I've joined the right thread too. The only thing worse than that is to come up behind someone who has the left turn indicator on, pass him on the right, then the idiot decides not to turn and proceeds forwards!

 

Happens more times than I care to count in Austin, but I guess I've become imune to it. I just let them do their thing. After all I've got the S2ook. Their stuck in that POS.
Riding a motorcycle for so many years has given me an acute dumb ass sense.

 

Being from the one region of the country that considers driving to be a 'Contact Sport', we have our own special words for clueless drivers. We call em *ucking Tourists. Like wirejock, I feel that riding a bike gives you a special sense of impending idiocy... If we only didn't have airbags maybe some of the more clueless drivers would be removed from the roadways through natural selection.

 

Yea, Strike, I realize the title of this thread may throw some people off the track...of course, I must be an idiot too since I didn't realize that until AFTER I posted it!

And yes, people who don't use turn signals PISS ME OFF, TOO!

But I am talking about more insane types of idiocy. Like the kind that turn left from the right hand lane, RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!

Anyway, the phenomenon isn't limited to Chi-town. It's epidemic and it's getting ugly. Really freaking ugly...
