Thumbs up If GM actully goes under...

If GM actully goes out of business....what would happen to all of their vechiles they made recently? No warranty? Will they have a "going out of business" sale? Or would some other company buy them....despite everyone being broke?

What are your thoughts? I have never seen such an event in my life time...except maybe for Lada not selling vechiles in Canada anymore.

The major brands would get bought up.. lesser brands, like Saturn, would find themselves in the graveyard.

If GM goes bankrupt, not only will there be many finished cars sitting around, but a lot of property, plant, and equipment as well. If there is a viable business under the mountain of shit they call a balance sheet, private investors would step in, buy up what they want, and continue building cars.

A total revamp of management would be key. Wipe the slate clean via bankruptcy and start fresh with no debt and no bullshit union contracts to phuk things up. This is the only way GM has a legitimate future ahead.

Daewoo anyone?

Another corp will step in if they fold and those brands would become something else. there is too much infrastructure and property for smart business to let it all go bye bye. Somebody will snatch it up if they do go teets up

Depends on the type of bankruptcy. One is complete liqidation, but I believe they would go the restructuring way, redo their debts, leases, tear up contracts, and exit bankruptcy as a leaner manufacturer, going forward to make cars that still don't measure up to Japanese products and nobody wants to buy.
