Smile If I type in a webaddress, a different 1 pops up?

For example... I wrote a couple threads on 350z to post a video I had of myself racing a buddy of mine in his Z. The thread has taken off and there is a lot of trash talking...

I wanted to log onto it from home... to defend myself ...but everytime I type in www.my350z.com it gets redirected to www.yahoo.com !!???

HOW DO I FIX THIS!?? It is driving me nuts!

I've tried deleting all cookies (even went in and did it manually) I've deleted temp files... I went into the registry and looked for malicious files... I used Spy Sweeper... Ad-Aware... Norton Anti-virus...

I can not figure it out!? Any help... please!

Your buddy must have linked the thread over to the 350Z forum... haha

log on to google,

enter 350Zforum?

See if that works?

Other than this, reboot your laptop / comp

Yahoo has their own spyware. You may have a Yahoo toolbar open in your browser, or a hidden program running in the background (i.e. automatic Yahoo search function from the toolbar). Or if you have Windows, go to your Task Manager and shut down any Yahoo processes.

I deleted a couple things inthe registry... but did not see any specific processes of Yahoo's running in the Task Manager...

Is there a specific file name for their spy-ware?

I had the same problem you have with Yahoo. When I would type an unrecognized website into the address bar and hit Enter, it would take me to Yahoo. I forget what exactly fixed it, but went into msconfig, disabled anything I knew wasn't needed for startup, opened up the Task Manager and manually shut down a bunch of processes, then went to the Control Bar's Add/Remove Programs and tried uninstalling it from there.

I'm almost certain, though, that it's a Yahoo function.

Spyware programs (SpyBot, SpyDoctor, etc.) won't find it for you because technically, it isn't spyware. It's just real damn annoying.
