I heard another thing on the radio a few weeks back where fat people may actually end up costing less for the society.

How so you may ask? Well, they die quicker, so you don't have to hand out a lot of cash for retirement and other 'treatments' which arrive with old age, and which apparently may well be more costly then treatments one needs when young and fat.

Food for thought...
Not true. When they are alive, they "eat" up the healthcare resources sending costs for everyone through the roof. If you're fat, you're unhealthy. If you're unhealthy you need more medical attention.

With our fabulous level of healthcare, we can keep a 400lb, chain smoking person alive well into their 60s.

I don't buy the fat people cost less bs.

Somebody explain this to me... the thyroid excuse... the thyroid (or lack thereof) does not manufacture body mass. Body mass comes from shoving crap in your mouth. That has always just sounded like such a BS story to me.
As someone said, it regulates your metabolism. My brother had a thyroid problem and was fatigued all the time and sleeping way too much. He finally went to the doctor and had some tests done, and now he takes thyroid meds to balance things out.

He put on about 20 extra lbs, but now that he's on the meds he lost it quickly. He also gave up the vampire lifestyle and is awake when the sun is up.

OK... what if no one in the US were in prison... or no one was on welfare.. why blame fat people.
Over 50% of the USA population is fat, 30% obese, less than 1% is in prison.... I'd rather have no fat people (but I'm in the minority).

Everything is debatable....Its actually people who live longer who cost more...

besides cost, which while I do care about, it matters to me more that these people's quality of life are in the crapper.

If everybody were healthy, I'd be out of a job.
