Should be an awesome time. This is a great idea, mind me asking how much this runs? I'd like to get some friends together and do this sometime.

 

With 15 of us, it's $200/person for the boat plus we've each chipped in $25 so far for food and we have all meals covered (and shopped for by us) including breakfast, lunch, and dinner (steak/chicken one night, pizzas another, pasta/lasagna another, eggs, bacon, pancakes, waffles, etc etc, I can't remember what else) and we'll all chip in on gas when we're done. I'll tally it up at the end up we should be able to get 4 days and 3 nights out of this for under $300 plus whatever alcohol you're going to drink.

 

Some will have fun, some will mutter "I will NEVER, EVER do this again.

 

Well I think I can actually contribute to this thread.
I've done the Shuswap Houseboat trip twice before, and will be going again for round 3 in 2 weeks time for a buddy's stag!!
You are correct, Neilson Beach is the one to go to at night. There are essentially 2 beaches to pull up to at night. One is more family oriented, and the other is Neilson. There are 200 houseboats that pull up everynight, and park within 1 foot of each other. Be sure to get there early enough to get a decent spot (by 6pm). The night literally is an orgy on the beach. Every houseboat is a free-for-all. Just wander the beach, look for one with lots os chicks (ie. staggette), and go aboard for some drinks. Or method 2 is to make your boat the most appealing, so the ladies come to you! If you don't get laid on this trip my friend, then something is seriously wrong. Be sure bring an assload of booze. There is a cold beer and wine store on the lake, but they do charge a little more. When you pull up to the floating gas station, be sure to remember to buy as much ice as possible... you will use it. Twin Anchors are pretty cool, but when you book for next year (and after this trip, I guarantee you will), check out Waterways Houseboats. That's the way I've always gone. 4 story boat with marble floors, granite countertops, and a kick-ass twisty slide on the 3rd story that every girl gets topless for, just to go down it, because "hers doesn't have one". And if you can find a "Skipper" hat, then you're money!!
