The previous thread I posted about trying to signal a fellow S2K driver to slow down because there were cops ahead has led to the conclusion that there is no universally accepted signal which means just that.

This is my attempt to fill that void.

Here's the situation:

You're driving along and pass a cop, who's just itching to nail some hotrodder; you, of course, are driving sedately enough to avoid his ire. Further down the road you spot a fellow S2K driver going in the opposite direction, spiritedly. You want to warn him to slow down a bit--that the cop is ahead and looking for him. How do you unambiguously send him that message?

 

I'll give about three or four flashes from the high beams. I hope that's enough so that oncoming traffic doesn't think I'm giving the "auto bahn, I'm going to pass you now signal".

 

Attention getter (lights, horn or whatever) followed by raised fist

 

make circling signs in the air and point to where the cop is

 

That's what I do. Thought I was alone with that, but it has slowed people down.
