As long as I could remember, on the demographics surveys, I've always marked the "Asian/Pacific-Islander" box....basically because there was no "Sub-Continent India" box.

Also, had there been an "American" box, I would have chose that as my first choice....seeing that I was born and raised in this country/culture. Indians don't see me as Indian, they see me as American, and America doesn't allow me to be American, only American-Indian....what the hell are Natives then?

 

They are Asian in a geographical sense, not by ethnicity or race. They don't look like Asians do they?

I think they are their own people in terms of race, so I agree with the Indian sub-continent idea.

I didn't know being "Asian" meant that you looked like something/someone/particular characterisctic?!

I just assumed Asians were called Asians, because they were/are FROM ASIA!
