Infomercials
Has anyone tried durashine? I was thinking it might be worth a try after reading about the water spots issue. It would also seem to avoid possible scratching during drying. I wonder if you have to remove your wax to use it? Anyone ?
I used Durashine on my Viper years ago. It gave a reasonable shine and seemed to protect against the usual stuff, bird do-do, sun, etc. But it still left swirl marks when I washed and dried the car. BTW, the car was black and I didn't find much out there that didn't leave swirl marks.
Do you count things that were once on infomercials but aren't anymore? The california duster, the absorber, and I think the miracle towel were all once informercial material.
I'd never actually buy most of the infomercial stuff... of course I can get it for free/really cheap... for what it's worth (not much!).

I immediately turn off as soon as an infomercial begins. Unless it comes highly recommended from someone I trust, I won't even try it. Sometimes it's fun to watch just how corny those infomercials are though...like the Hammer golf club
I got sucked into the "Titanium II" knives a couple of weeks ago. I got them and they aren't exactly what I would call chef's quality. I do like the look, it resembles the Global knives I have.
I have worked in the infomercial business and produced a number of infomercials and, trust me, the majority of products advertised are not worth the money. For the most part, they're all selling the sizzle, not the steak. Of course, some products do work, but the results that are shown are often highly inflated and exaggerated.
Even though consumers are protected with the legally-mandated 30-day money-back guarantee, some companies either fail to return your money or take months to return it. And good luck suing to get your $39.95 plus $4.95 postage & handling back. Yes, there are some good players in this biz, but for the most part it's filled with shady characters and double crossers...unlike conventional advertising IMO.
Just this Duck's $.02 worth (with no money-back guarantee!)
