Insurance cancelled from competing in SCCA AutoX
I dont' have many details, but apparently Progressive cancelled 2 member's insurance because they competed in SCCA Solo II

Hopefully there are more details that we don't know about. Maybe they had other problems -- accidents, tickets -- that, in combination with autocrossing, caused them to lose their insurance. Let's hope this isn't a new trend!

Do you have any further details on the insurance company's reasoning behind this? I can't think of a better way than an autocross or a DE to learn to control your car and avert a future accident than learning how the car will react when pushed to the limit, which, you would think, would be a plus to the insurance company.

I've received 8-10 messages within a couple hours of my previous post. I'm waiting for more detail from the affected parties. Both received letters stating that their coverages were going to be cancelled due to the fact that their names had been published on our web page autocross results.
I'll keep the list posted upon further receipt of information. And to those that have asked, I would also assume that if Progressive were to get a hold of a printed listing of results they would take the same actions.
I can understand writing an exclusion into a policy for timed events but without data indicating an increase in claims due to such events there is no logical excuse. It would appear that one should take just the opposite stance, that those who attend and participate in such events should be better drivers, resulting in lower claims.

This is not a good trend. Also be warned that Honda may start denying warranty claims as a result of posted results from autocrosses. Some dealerships are sponsors here on S2ki, of which they have access to board messages about autocross and results. This has happend in the past where certain people were claiming warranty work... but were denied and presented with a printout of some messages from this board. BE WARNED about what you post.
