Interesting pictures of North Korea
I just noticed something... they have a land area approximately one third that of Japan, and yet they don't feel the need to conserve land (look at how wide the lanes are, how much open space there is etc).
I wonder if any of those buildings are actually concentration camps on the inside.

actually it's more like Stalinism. N. Korea is no laughing matter. while their threat to the rest of the world may be somewhat limited, it is a police state and the citizens live in a world of totalitarian work camps, brainwashing, and brutally harsh treatment. it's the most evil and oppressive country on the face of the planet, bar none.
DPRK doesn't really need fuel for its tanks when they already have a couple hundred artillery companies with their batteries zeroed in on downtown Seoul. At an estimated rate of 10,000 combined rounds a minute, that doesn't leave much time to wage war against them before Seoul is reduced to smoking rubble.
I like the Blade Runner hotel building, though. Did anyone else think of the Black Fortress from Krull?

I have not seen anybody mention it here but from what I have read, they have a standing army of about a million, and they get everything while most of the citizens are close to starving. True Marxism was supposed to make everyone have an equal share (it never works out that way). In N Korea the average person gets nothing and all goes to Jong Il's puppets and military. With the military the only way to make a decent living, the decision for the youth is either starve or be one of the governments enforcers.
I know some people still think communism is the way to go, but I once heard, I think it was Gingrich, ask someone who was advocating true socialism this question;
"If communism is such a wonderful system, how come every communist country becomes a national prison that people try to escape from?"
That was true in Russia, Vietnam, Cuba, China, now North Korea. I have never heard someone that believes in the Marxism give a good answer to that question.

And people die everyday trying to get here! Not saying this is 100% utopia but where else can you make it rich by advertising a company's name on your forehead !
Ah, the land of the free.

There are concentration camps, but are on the outskirts of the country, in desolate areas where nobody can escape, nor where anybody will help those that do escape. Those who do end up escaping to China are sent right back, only to be tortured some more, and most likely killed.
