I didn't catch anything on this in the search so I thought I would ask. Anyone have an international wife. I mean did you go though any mail order bride or date over the internet before meeting and then get married. I have been happily married two years and my wife is russian. She is 23 and I am 29.

 

did you meet her through one of those services, or the old fashioned way?

I know of one guy who went through some sort of "travel agency / dating service", went to Russia and bought himself a young bride. he didn't speak a word of Russian and nor did she speak English. she is quite pretty and honestly, this dude is anything but handsome. he's kinda pudgy and dweebish... and clueless.

so he brings her back here, and while he works she runs off with her russian friends and *absolutely refuses* to let him come along. how much u wanna bet that she's got herself a young russian boyfriend with whom she's gonna run off with once she's been naturalized and can't be kicked out of the USA should they divorce? (I think it's 2 years?)

IMO, those mail order bride things are little more than legally sanctioned, extended contract prostitution agreements in return for a free trip to the US. sorry, but I think a guy has to be pretty pathetic to feel like he has to go buy a bride from another country, esp. after only geting to know her for an incredibly short period of time (considering they're getting married) and most especially if neither of them speak the same language.

well it sounds like your guy has more problem than not beeing good looking if he doesn't know how to nurture and leverage his position to at least a level playing field with this chick... sometimes bad things happen by design

 

I bought a mail order sheep from new zealand. She has white curly hair and doesn't speak a word of english. We've been in love for a year now.

To be honest I did run across her in a travel agency. We emailed and talked on the phone for about a year and a half. I decided to go spend about a month with her in Kyrgyzstan and we decided to give things a try. When something like this happens you have 90 days to get married or they have to return to the country of origin. We waited till the 87th day just to be sure things would work out. We have been married almost two years and she has her own job, speaks great English, and every decision is a joint decision. We do things seperate once and a while but we visit together with friends both Russian and American. We also have made friends with over 14 other couples that have been happily married from 2-8 years. We have run into a couple unhappy pairs but as of yet we have not heard in our circle of friends of a scam. They do happen though. Most of the foreign women know that there lifestyle sucks in these countries and do want to get out. My wife was going to Germany to live with her father so there was no reason to go to the U.S.A. It looks like I was reason enough. You will be surprised. Most of the women prefer, Australis, U.K., or Germany over the U.S.A. I wonder why? DUH. It is all in the service. The scams end up being when the 40'ish-70'ish guy goes for the 18'ish GIRL. Not my cup of tea.

Why? I am sure some of you are curious. For those of you still in the dating seen will know that most (99%) of the women to chose from are very money grubbing, want to change you, high maintanence pieces of garbage. A foreign women can offer things that most American women used too. My wife is very aware of the value of things. I grew up in a trailer with my mother (rest her soul) the size of a bathroom. I value the things I have now, that I have an awesome career. I wanted a wife that valued the same things. American women are very high maintanence and don't repsect things anymore. I wanted a 50's style wife but with the intelligence, independence, and dreams to be happy with success.

 

Man, are you being stereotypical of American women. Sounds like you just had a tough time meeting a woman here so you decided to go find one in another country. There is nothing wrong with that, but man, it definitely seems desperate. I'm glad it is working out for you, and you are happy, but there are plenty of women around the world that act how you described, just not Americans.
