Default Intresting facts about where you live..

Every town has secrets that it wants to hide from the rest of the country, Just around where I live...

In Mt. Holly, NC.. The KKK is extremely active. They even hold marches in the downtown areas.

The last HANGING execution in NC was in Dallas, NC. A mentally disabled black girl was charged (Tried and Convicted) with killing her baby. She was hung in a Big Oak tree outside the jail. Afterward, another man (Black) admitted to killing the child. He was never tried. An autopsy revealed that the girl was pregnant. (Remember she spent several months in jail with White prison guards). Afterwards, state passed the law to never HANG as a form of Capital Punishment again.

So I got to thinking, these are things that puts my area to shame. What about your area? What stories would you only know because you've lived there so long?

Here in Clemson SC, I always here about some crazy incidents that happen on campus that get push to the back burner. This is because I am a student and I get emails anytime some type of crime takes places. Nothing to crazy, just robberies/break-in's etc for the most part. However on monday, a guy was found dead in a classroom. He was studying there over the weekend, and wasn't found till class started on Monday.

Also, last year a girl got ran over by one of campus busses. She didn't die, but her foot was amputated. I don't know how you walk out in front of a bus. Its a big orange/purple turbo diesel RTA style bus. How can you miss it?

A lot of this never makes the press so the school can keep a good public image. I am sure this kinda thing happens at all campuses.

Thomas Jefferson went to my school, he worked in our downtown, Patric Henry exclaimed, "Give me liberty or give me death" in a building which I drive past everyday. The first permanent English settlement was founded a mile away from me.

I live in a historically rich area. I can't think of anything really cool that has happened that isn't common knowledge.

In Tucson there is an increasing trend in illegal immigrants getting in cars accidents just hours after they cross the border. I am talking about Suburbans with 15 Mexicans in em. They roll over at small back-road intersections and then we have to foot their life-flight & hospital bills. There is also at least 1 major drug bust a month involving either 2+ tons of pot or hundreds of pounds in cocaine.

hahahaaa. California wasn't even a state then, but I had to figure out wtf, so I wikipediaed it. To no surprise, he's from Virginia. He was also in a secret society called the Flat Hat Club in the The College of William & Mary in Williamsburg.

In Minnesota we have historically bad sports teams?

I think the town I grew up in may have invented the mullet?
