Intresting facts about where you live..
Yeah I'm in Williamsburg, VA.
The Flat Hat Society was a secret organization and is now the name of our school paper. I had to take an honor pledge in the original building on campus. When we were up there it was like being in a 1700s European building, apparently secret organizations have their inceptions there and stuff.
When my friends from Seattle ask where I live, I tell them by where the Pocahontas thing happened. "New World" was filmed 10mile from me, and that Irish guy stayed at my friend's pub most of the time.

Nice, some of you are getting the idea of the post. In Shelby, NC, there is an organization called the Word of Faith Fellowship...

Like the crap going on in Texas, Waco, Jim Jones. These people are crazy, and thiefs. One of them screwed my dad for several thousand dollars in a business deal. And the other man he was dealing with "Vanished".
And to Shy Guy, every thing I have said has taken place since 1900.

Palatine, IL, home of the Brown's Chicken Massacre. The site of the building (now torn down) is a couple blocks from my place. We actually were looking at a house that was about two doors down from the parents of one of the killers; decided that wasn't such a hot idea.
Greensboro NC was the Capital of the Confederacy for about a week after the North pushed it out of VA. Also, the last major KKK riot in NC occurred in Greensboro in 1979 - something like a dozen blacks were killed by demonstrating KKK and police, yet no one was convicted.
On the plus side, Nathaniel Greene led the Revolutionary army in a battle here that beat up Cornwallis and his Red Coats bad enough that he had to surrender to Washington, thus making the USA an independent nation.
In Chapel Hill, the nation's oldest public university, students used to attend college with their slaves. If fights broke out, students would shoot each others slaves (who's going to do your laundry now!). Also, Blacks could vote in NC up until about 1890 when big business decided it didn't want Blacks to vote, so it outlawed it in the Congress.
Supposedly, the city of Charlotte NC, known as the Queen city, was not actually named after Queen Charlotte, but after a whore house at the corner of Trade and Tryon streets - considered the center of the city. People (men, I guess), would say they were going to Charlotte's, and that became Charlotte, then attached to the queen versus a whore for public image.

my town, fallbrook california, to go along with the KKK theme, was the home of tom metzger, grand dragon of the KKK and founder of the white aryan resistance. He used to have a public access show, and im pretty sure his favorite word was "knuckle dragging monkeys." Cameron from american history x was based on tom metzger. i think he has since moved to indiana. Has been convicted of numerous cross burnings, even though he has rejected christianity as a form of judiasm(???), and was convicted of inciting violence when he worked up some kids and they killed an ethopian exchange student.
