Ipod Alternatives
Just wondering what mp3 players you guys were using. I am a little tired of the ipod mania going around and was hoping to see if anyone recommended another hard disc mp3 player. Personally i was considering the Dell Jukebox for the cheaper price but if i find no other alternative, i guess i might as well dive into the ipod crowd.
Its not a mania or a "fad" Its just that the iPod is THAT good. It really is.I've had two and Im gonna get the mini now...
Its just something that you have to go check out. The simplicity of it, the style, and the way that you navigate through it are all unique. Everyone else is just copying. If you think its expensive, then just get a 3rd Gen from Ebay. They will be less expesive but just as good.

Any IRiver H series player. Muche more battery life, many more options, and much better file transfer(ie. no need for a propriatary software to interface). only downside is a much less intuitive interface, and a slightly larger size(also it's worth noting that Iriver, unlike apple, acutally upgrades their firmware for their older players and also IRiver players support more codecs than IPod).
I must say though, that IPod has WAY better asthetics than the IRiver, so it's your choice.

I have been using a Rio Riot for two years now and paid less than $250 CDN for the 20GIG storage MP3 player. The Rio Riot may be a little hard to find now except on E-Bay.
Another better option if buying new is the Rio Karma. It is a 20Gig hard disk player that is affordable and an alternative to the Ipod.
Check it here,

Also check out the AUX audio input devices for connecting the MP3 player directly to the S2K head end.
