I ordered one in black 10 mins after they popped up on Apples site.

I was thinking of getting a 20gig iPod Photo but knowing they were going to anounce soon I held off. Glad I did, saved myself about $50 and I got the new hotness.

Free engraving...

IIRC, all new IPODs have write protection built into the firmware which means no, ninethree, you cant go to jain... unless you try.

Yeah, the copy protection is to keep the RIAA lawyers at bay, but anyone with an once of effort can get around it, and plenty of software exists already to do just that.

Can anyone explain or at least point me to an article which explains exactly what the copy protection means?
