Iranian or Iraqi Territorial Waters
This is a conversation overheard on the VHF Guard (emergency) frequency 121.5 MHz while sailing from Kuwait to Dubai. The conversation went like this:
Iranian Naval Defense Radar: "Unknown ship you are in Iranian territorial waters. Identify yourself."
Ship: "This is a United States ship. I am in Iraqi territorial waters."
Iranian Naval Radar: "You are in Iranian territorial waters.. If you do not depart our waters we will launch Iranian Coast Guard Patrol Boat!"
Ship: "This is a United States Naval Nimitz-class supercarrier. Launch 'em, I'll wait!"
Iranian Naval Defense Radar: no response .... total silence.
