http://forlife.4mg.com/nutrition/Choose_Protein.htm

read it and decide for yourself. It doesnt say that casein negates whey absorbtion (just that casein itself absorbs slowly), nor does milk even have much "effective" casein in it to reap the benefits of casein's amino acids.

Wow! One of the few people in this entire thread that have even the slightest idea of what they're talking about. It's nice to see someone recognize their body needs complex carbs(vs. being scared of them) instead of protein after a work-out.

I loved my days in the past when I worked at a smoothie shop outside my local Bally gym. I couldn't get enough of the guys that would come in there and want a 100 gram protein shake convinced that they could actually absorb it and had no idea of the damage they were doing to the kidneys and liver. The human body can't even absorb 40 grams in a three hour period let alone 100 grams. The whole 1 gram of protein per 1 lb. of body weight is the biggest form of brainwashing/conditioning the supplement industry has ever pulled off. They did such a good job of getting that philosophy printed in every work-out magazine across America that now you even have gym chode's believing they can absorb 2 grams of protein per 1 lb. of weight. Just a basic level of research in to nutrition will show the common laymen that this is a big negative on your body over time. Most people have no idea just how much more water they need to consume to even come close to deaminating that much protein and their liver suffers the brunt of it all.
