Default trying to gain weight.

I've lost a lot of weight over the past 3-5 years due to work stress and too much . I've given up the bad habits and decided to hit he gym again. I'm not up to date on the current supplements and need recommendations on what to use for weight gain. I used to use cell tech, nitro tech, and just good 'ol whey protein powder.

so what's a good creatine? and the best tasting protein suplement that's easy to mix. I prefer something that would mix easily without having to use a blender. I'm more likely to stick to routine this way.

also any good tips on keeping a high protein intake. I will probably mix a banana, two raw omega 3 eggs, chocolate powder, a little sugar, maybe even some protein powder for breakfast.

any other tips on maximizing protein intake throughout the day.

TIA.

I take Muscle Milk Light (whey protein) Cookies'n'Cream. A little sweet but I really like it.

Peanut butter will up your calorie intake big time and help you pack on the pounds.

When I was real hardcore into bodybuilding I would set an alarm at like 3 am and down a quick whey protein shake. I was crazy.

I used to take muscle milk, and made good gains, but I read a long article about how the type of creatine used (creatinine i think?) wasn't good for you.

I've been on sizeon for a few months now and its the bomb. Look into it.

I gained 45 pounds of muscle (and dropped an inch off the waist) in one year awhile ago by eating 6 meals a day instead of 3. I didn't take any sort of supplement, just concentrated on getting good nutrition into my body. (And hit the gym hard six days a week for two months on, two months off, etc).

I really like that approach of two months on and off. I think way too many people over train nowadays. I have a small frame and a very fast metabolism, but fortunately I can gain with very little effort. As long as I can EAT!

You only need supplements if you aren't able to eat enough. That's why they're called supplements, not meals. All I would use is some whey protein and casein protein powder.. I like Optimum nutrition. Whey before/after workout, casein at night.

hmmm I didn't see creatine listed in the nutrition facts of muscle milk.

Creatine has been controversial for so long. Maybe someone will correct me, but I think all creatine is "creatnine" in biological terms. Problems I've heard of with creatine use is dependency. Creatine is naturally created in your body, so continuous supplementation will retard the production of natural creatine. Therefore you have to cycle it. 6wks on 3 wks off or something similar. Also loading with heavy doses of creatine can be harsh on your kidneys. Many people have suffered from kidney problems with prolonged creatine use.

do you have the link to the article? I'd love to read it.

Eating real food is cheaper than taking supplements. There are also theories regarding the ability of the human body to keep the muscle on better if it came on slowly from normal metabolism of real food.

By the way - during this year of weight gain I did nothing but "super-sets" at the gym.

Eating six meals a day sucks because you are only a bit hungry in the morning and then feel stuffed all day. But, since you only do it for two months and then are basically off for two months, it isn't too hard.

I find this very interesting. so for the two months you worked out and eat religiously, but for the next two months, you slacked off and had a completely normal lifestyle? how many meals did you eat then, and did you work out at all?
