every winter,
ever since i moved to the states from
korea when i was little.

two things help me a great deal-

(other curel lotions or other brands don't work for me...)
and humidifier next to my bed every night.

I agree with most of the above posts, it's probably the dry air. There are two reasons you (and me too) only notice it at night: you're not busy doing something else so your mind can better focus on your itchiness, and you have all your weight on your itchy parts.

Try this: Put moisturizing lotion all over your back tonight before bed. Lay down, and see if it's still itchy.

Go to a dermatologist and ask him/her for a Cortisone shot. If that doesn't work, try Prednisone. I had the same symptoms and it worked for me two years ago.

Just try lotion first. If it doesn't work, then go to the doctor. I'm also guessing dry weather...and yeah, it itches the most after a shower or when going to bed. (Warm water dries the skin)...plus soap also dries skin (even the moisturizing ones).

If you feel the bugs crawling underneath your skin; head down to the methadone clinic.

i had a weird rash that itched badly about a year ago. it had some funny name, but was essentially no big deal. doc gave me a steroid type cream and it was clear within a couple days.

it's the cold winter weather... it dries your skin out and makes you itch. i only itch at night too. and it's especially worse if i've just been to the tanning bed in the past 2-3 days. just use tons and tons of lotion... i like shea butter. or cortisone cream if it gets reallly bad.

cause i live in oregon and i turn this light/yellowish/ashy ugly color during the winter... and even during the summer i don't get the color i like and i hate tan lines. there's a huge difference between tanning bed tan and natural tan. tanning bed tan is more bronze/warm/healthy and my natural tan can be kind of uneven and dull, you get tan lines from bikinis, etc. girls just overdo it sometimes and turn orange, otherwise tanning bed tan is alot nicer.

but now we're wayyyyyy off topic.
