Default January 28th, 1986...Challenger Disaster

Today marks the 25th anniversary of the space shuttle Challenger disaster. I was only 5 yrs old. Sitting in the gym of my elementary school watching the launch. Shortly after the explosion they turned off the tv and sent all of the students back to our classes. It's strange how things you were doing can be remembered during a tragedy, even at a young age.

What were you doing??

At work, I assume. I really don't remember. It was 25 years ago. I do, of course, remember the coverage. I remember the one that burned up over Texas, though. I was shopping with my wife at Parisian.

I watched it live on TV riding a Lifecycle at the gym. What a terrible tragedy!

I was 4 months old, so I don't remember. I do remember learning about it in school though.

I was at work, and got a telephone call from my wife. Our daughter had been born five days earlier; my wife was at home with her watching the launch. When she phoned we immediately found a TV at work and turned it on to watch the news coverage.

Sixth grade walking down the hall looking in to rooms where it was televised, and stopped at the explosion.

The one over Texas...I had just watched Final Destination for the first time on DVD. Turned it off to see the shuttle burn up over Texas. Creepy.
