If you want true cloaking, you would need to find a way to produce a coherent gravitational field which would be powerful enough to bend light rays around the object - no where near our current level of scientific understanding, if it's even possible at all.

did you just write that?? I mean, do you understand what you just wrote? you're talking about bending light around a person/object by manipulation of the gravitational field itself? wouldn't you say that's a bit of an overkill, considering the intent is merely to disguise one's presence-- you know, camouflage-- and not to modify the fabric of space-time? c'mon man, this thread was started about some parka that displays pictures for crying out loud.

I mean, if that's what you consider "true cloaking" I'm curious what you consider a backyard bar-b-que? thermonuclear explosions properly spaced around a field of cattle? (using 20-megaton warheads. well-done: 15-17 miles. medium: 17-22 miles. rare: 22-26 miles, depending on atmospheric conditions.)

I'd like to nominate this as Understatement of the Year: "no where near our current level of scientific understanding, if it's even possible at all."

What if I wanted "medium well" and not "well done?"

actually, i think to make something "cloaked, you do need to change the light rays, and the only way to do it is the bend the lights...... not a full nerd yet...
