Default Job Market 2009

So I am watching the news today and the unemployment rate has risen to 5.1 %. Is this what we will be forced to do in 2009...

Real estate, wall street.. jobs down
IT, sales... jobs up

Makes no difference to me as long as people buy cars and the stock market is around, that's all I need.

Unemployment goes up, crime goes up. Since I'm in the division of my company that sells radios to police (and fire, EMS, etc etc,) it's almost a boon to us.

But my wife's in the (failing) consumer phone business....yikes.

No worries here, fortunately there will always be new roads and those roads will always need traffic signals, lighting, guardrail, signs etc. so we'll be doing alright. Sucks to think about the economy getting to that point either way.
