they waited for so long because they thought they can handle the new recruits, but after a few clients not paying their bills, they had to rescind the offers.

i know i was counting my eggs before they hatched, but i was guaranteed a job that pays well enough and i know that as long as i had the opportunity to prove my work ethic, skills, etc. i would insure myself a long standing career. now, i didn't even get the opportunity to prove to them.

so i take it getting a master's degree if i don't get a job isn't a great idea either?

You may not lose your deposit. Just tell the dealer you will not be able to take delivery until later. Explain the situation. As soon as you get a job take delivery. Or just get a refund.

Hope you find something soon and join us driving the best car around.

My first job was similar to yours...

I competed against experienced people for a cobol programming job (This was 14 years ago now). I offered myself at half price just to gain experience. I beat the opposition and was ready and packed to fly off from the UK to Florida for 6 months.

On the morning of departure I received a call telling me that they were sorry but the State of Florida had fallen out with them and I was no longer needed. I was gutted and had spent 2 months reading 60 cobol manuals on their system design (Ok, most of it was never absorbed).

You know what, it was the best thing that ever happened to me. I made sure thereafter that I held control of my job situations and also I moved into a different technical area and have made much more than I would have with them.

The only downside was that I had to wait to buy my first car - A Ford Fiesta 950cc Popular -...

Keep smiling,
Sam.
