I made my comment based on what was said - it wouldn't have mattered if it was the pope, George W. Bush, or my mother. It's a strange comment to make - "I love someone I've never met".

That's all there was to it. Period.

Just because I'm well known as being outspoken in my beliefs doesn't mean that everything I say is meant to try and belittle someone (that is never my intention when it comes to religion anyways). Again, you'll notice that in my post, I never mentioned anything about beliefs or anything - it wasn't even a part of the equation. It was about a) a strange statement and b) a circular/obvious statement (later). That's all.

That's why I threw in the big smilies - I didn't want anything to be taken as anything but goodnatured ribbing.

If I said "Man, Isaac Newton is a great guy because he agrees with most engineers about gravity and forces", would you call that an obvious statement? That's how I took vader1s statement - funny due to obviousness. Of course followers believe the same as their leader (or whatever).

Anyways, this is severely getting hijacked which is completely not what I intended (yet again).

I liked the "foot in mouth" disease comment, along with the "I've developed adult diabetes" line. I'd probably have choked if I'd had that said to me...

 

Its all good. The problem with discussions on the internet is we hear condecending tones or sarcasm in our head when we read some things even if it might not be intended. I am done with the thread, just wanted to post a joke.
