Judge likes his junk phone calls
Some not-so-bright judge in OK, where evidently it is still legal for first cousins to marry, has decreed that the "Do Not Cal" registry is unconstitutionable...
Click here for the ugly details.
A local talk show guy was flaming about this and mentioned that judge is listed in the telephone directory, in case anyone wanted to look him up and call.
I kinda like that idea.

you're slow dude...the house voted to reinstate the registry by changing the law to allow the FTC to operate the list. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...elemarketing_dc
I am only talking about one inbred local hick- if he was from WA, or MA or anywhere else, I would still impune his background. My appologies if you took offense.
We have a state-wide do not call list here in WA, and the sleezos have found so many ways around it that it is useless. I have a TeleZapper, and it has done more for my peaceful dinner hour than all the politicos in DC.

I hate getting calls, too, and have signed up for the national list.....BUT, the (second) judge may have a valid point.
The FTC is treating similar types of commercial speech in two different ways. The gov't can't give preference to one type of speech over another when the content isn't' significantly different. If they include the charities and make them honor the no-call list, then that would likely fix that particular problem.
Has anyone with one of those Telezapper things had any problems with friends/family calling on a calling card getting "zapped"? I've considered getting one, but have a friend or two that insist on using calling cards.
