Just bought a bike
A Yamaha V Star 650, to be precise. The first one I've ever owned. My family thinks I'm a bit crazy, and I can't completely discount that possibility. I guess the feeling of driving fast in my S2k with the wind in my face has got me wanting more....
Anyway, I have a question in case there are any bikers out there. The dealership offers a service plan where they do all the scheduled maintenance for 2 years for $1700, 3 years for $2400. They pick the bike up and deliver back to my home. Not having ever owned a bike, I have no idea whether this makes sense economically--am I likely to have that much expense, assuming that I have them do everything?
Any advice would be appreciated.

It just depends on whether or not you want to mess with it yourself or pay as you go. I'm certain that the dealership has a very handsome profit built in to those prices. These days bikes are pretty low maintenance anyway, aren't they? I've had a couple of scooters, a dirt bike and a Suzuki 1000 until it fell on me; boy that thing was scary-fast.
