Otherwise, aside from white noise, try something full-frequencied, like organ music or techno. Two days should be about right.

And worth every penny, trust me.

I have more money in high end audio equipment than most people on this forum have in their cars.

I'm an etymotic fan, but the UE's were a great buy

You pick up the triple.fis that were on sale?

BTW for the other people shocked at the price tag, $400 is for their mid level headphones. Their good stuff is $1000+.

^ Yeah!

Walmart has them for over $500 w/tax: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?...uct_id=11997552

They sound incredible. I travel a lot and so it's worth it. I can use them for 2 years and still resell for 60% of the retail price because high-end earphones don't depreciate much.

As for the Sony comment, you must not have any experience with high-end Sony products to have made such a snide comment. Sony products are pretty much respected worldwide, and to say any Sony product isn't worth $800 is simply ignorant. Go try a Sony XBR9 TV then!

find a white noise track and burn them in over an afternoon.

consider going to an audiologist and getting some custom molds made.
along with improving the isolation, the bass response improves too.
Thanks, but that sounds like a lot of work. I'll just break them in for 10 hours and enjoy them.

Sorry man, I've got to agree about the Sony comment (but for an actual reason!). I'm a complete audiophile (like I said, I have more money in high end equipment than most have in their cars) and I would never pay that much for a Sony product. I've owned Grados, AKGs, Etymotics, Denons, Stax, and MANY MANY more... (...) I always tell my customers and friends to steer clear of Sony and Bose.

The only Sony headphones I swear by are the 7509's for recording. However, what I need for recording I do NOT want for casual listening.

A friend of mine lent me his Top-Of-The-Line Sony Concierge-grade headphones. Sounded good, comfortable, and after 2 hours, I said, "These are the best SONY headphones I've ever heard." They have a distinct sonic signature, which should not exist in a near- $2K statement product.

Get a pair of Senns or Grados, a Nu-Force or BitHead amp, and be happy (and buy yourself a nice dinner with the change).
