LoL. That NSX meet was crazy fun. The previous owner saw the car in the May 1995 edition of Turbo and was so interested that he located and called the owner. The guy he called was a cop and didn't like exterior modifications and wanted the car to be a complete sleeper. So everything looks stock and is hidden except for the HKS boost guage mounted on the A-pillar. So he got a ride on the car and the guy was rich so he offered to buy it. The owner refused but about a year later called the rich guy up and sold it to him. The new owner just wanted it as a toy and wanted to turn about 28mpg. So he turned down the boost all the way to 6psi and never took the car past 5,000rpms (7300 is the redline). So now I have the car, but it's et at only 6psi. I have to take it to Mechtech and have them tune it on the dyno with my Haltech. I think I'm going to raise it to about 12psi. When I raise it to 12psi, I'll throw a car meet similar to the NSX one. However, I'll invite my friends this time: Mr2s, Porsches, Supras, 300Zxs, and RX-7s. That'd be cool if we could get the Stook crowd to come too. I had a great time last time.

YoungS2K:

I don't have any pictures up yet. I will probably take some soon, didn't really have time due to school. It looks exactly the same as it did in TURBO though, down to the ugly ass rims. That's the first thing I have to do, get some SSR Decolte Evolutions or some Racing Harts (C5/M5) It's hard to say how fast the car is. On pump gas, 215mm width tires, granny shifting and launching conservatively it did 12.7@112mph. The car dynoed at 340@15.5psi and I think a little more than 300hp@12psi. I'm not sure because Mechtech kept the dyno sheets to put them on their wall. I'm going to ask for a copy. Since then the owner added a RPS turbo clutch and a custom cermamic coated manifold. So it should have a bit more power. Like I mentioned before, I am going to add a few more engine mods before I tune the air/fuel. I am aiming for 12s in the quarter with 12psi of boost and without sacrificing any drivability or reliablity.

Dj K-otik:

Yes, I am aware of the new rear suspension geometry. That is why I spent the past year or so hunting down the 1993+ model Mr2. I just don't want to deal with the snap oversteer the 91-92 models had. I also wanted the LSD, dual synchro tranny, short shifter, bigger brakes, new interior, lower ride height and that front lip the 93 come with. I guess the ride height doesn't matter if you get suspension anyways.

Yea, I know what you are saying. That's why I did a 126pt. inspection and a compression test before I bought it. Also, I know a good amount about Mr2s (Have been looking at them for about 3 years now) so I also didn't find any problems. It passed the inspection with flying colors, it even passed smog. Compression came out really well too:

dry: 155psi/155psi/155psi/150psi
wet: 185psi/175psi/180psi/175psi

The previous owners have taken really good care of the car, I mean, the car's boost is only set at 6psi now. 6psi is good for about 275hp, which isn't bad. I can't wait until I crank up the boost! The problem with this car is that it's too unique. It is the only twin turbo known of in North America (and no one knows of another one in the world), so I can only take my car to Mechtech when I need to turn the turbos. Thankfully they are only 2 hours north from me.

Pics please! This thing sounds damn sweet. My first love was for an MR2. I still remember it - I was in Montreal and the car had just come out (Spring 1991). A black turbo with t-tops and aftermarket wheels rolled past, exhaust burbling and me and my friends just thought it was the sweetest thing ever. The car's styling is absolutely sensational to this very day.

WTH did Toyota do to the new one?

I have nothing against MR2s, in fact I'm even considering of getting a MR2 Turbo myself, I'm mad however about this guy calling our cars 'Hon-duh S2slow' on his RX7 forum and bragging about his new(actually old) car on our forum.

Ummm... if you are going to critisize, at least know what you are arguing about. The fact of the matter is, the purpose of the thread was to come up for acronymns or nick names for any cars, whether you agree with it or not. Someone even posted "Rebuild eXperiment - 7th Attempt " making fun of the RX-7 itself in an RX-7 forum. Did you notice no one flamed him? Here is the thread if you didn't comprehend well the first time you read it: http://www.rx7club.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/001555.html On the other hand calling my car "old" is somewhat ignorant, don't you think? The car is still in production in Japan...but I'm not going to even argue with you. If you really feel like you need a better explanation, drop me an email so we don't pollute this thread with non-sense. Thanks.
