It's CDMA, which means it won't work anywhere in Europe or Asia where I frequently travel

Anything similar but will run on GSM tri-band?

This phone operates on both CDMA and GSM so if you're a Verizon customer and travel internationally frequently, this should be the perfect phone.

Also, what is a good GSM carrier in the USA? When I mean good, I mean first reception quality, and second coverage. And also would this phone be readily operable in Europe? I guess the USA carrier would have to be in partnership with the European GSM carrier or is this not necessarily true? I live on Long Island, NY if that is of any consequence. That RAZR V3 looks awesome, I might have to give up Verizon for it.

Yes, you can transfer data from a PC to a phone and vice-versa, generally running OS would be Windows Mobile, this functionality is more commonly used in Pocket PCs. Bluetooth file transfer capability is software controlled ala MS ActiveSync which is phone related not provider related, providers cannot disable a specific function since bluetooth is a radio frequency.

bluetooth is actually limited on the phone.. there is no profile for OBEX file transfer.. headset and dial up modem work perfectly though.. and the phone (imo) is much better than the v600.. i just ported from ATTWS, where service sucked outside of manhattan..

very fast menus, great voice dial, great speakerphone, reception, etc.. i got the phone for $250 after a mail in rebate for a 2 yr contract..

Its pretty cool to cut up my favorite parts in songs, and email them to myself and use em for ringtones. No need to pay for ringtones anymore!
