Just got a Motorola V710
i love my v710. people who bash on the crippled bluetooth needs to look at their phone. can u use a wireless headset? no?? nuff said.
Verizon is sticking a dick in your ass with their crippling of the functionality, and you are taking it with a smile on your face.
I love verizon, however dkhl said my main complaint with verizon that their phones are not the newest phones. Verizon crippled the bluetooth--it was not a decision by motorola. This is because if the bluetooth was fully functioning then users could load their own ringtones and other files to the phone without having to buy it thru get it now. I've been on several threads where 710 owners were trying to put together a lawsuit against verizon for crippling the phone, however I think its a little ridiculous. One point I think the lawsuit would make is that on Verizon's website, there is no indication of the bluetooth being crippled--in fact unless it has been changed, under the phone description, it says fully functioning with bluetooth.
As for the comment about using the wireless headset....That is a frill and the headset costs like $100 if you buy it from verizon--about $60 on ebay. Think about it this way: look at all the other phone carriers that have bluetooth phones and they don't cripple their features. Therefore verizon suckered you into buying a phone that the bluetooth doesnt work completely. To me, the wireless headset is cool, but I would rather be able to sync my phone with computer, etc. I guess its all about what is important to you.
My other problem with the phone is that it is huge and the keypad is cheap feeling. If you want to see a good keypad, then see the vx7000. I do love the screen and screen on the outside though.

Wait i just use the scandisk memory card and transfer all my songs and ringtones that way.
I dont see what the big deal is, for 30 bucks i have an unlimited amount of ringtones, mp3's and pictures that i can change whenver i want.
Not to mention an increase in the phones memory.
crippled bluetooth my ass, the only purpose bluetooth serves me is that i can walk around my house but naked with the headset on and i dont need to run to anywhere in my house when im watchin the game and havin a bowl of cherrios.

Oh how mistaken you are...you can't even do this because I have read where people thought they were clever in doing this and the files become encrypted when you attempt to put them on your phone.
128mb transflash=goodness.
dont hate cuz ur phone doesnt have blue tooth(mainly for headset)
and the transflash is for all the data transfering. simple and easy.
well if I'm mistaken, then fine, but I read a review where the reviewer used the flash card to transfer files and when they loaded it onto the computer the files had been corrupted or encrypted.
Besides, I'm not hating, if you like using a phone the size of a wallet then fine. I could've bought the phone, but I didnt cause to me it isnt worth it.

LOL so you think that bluetooth is rare these days? Okay.

The phone makes calls and the bluetooth does operate, although not as it does on like phones with other carriers.
The V710 has had lots of problems. The "full functioning" bluetooth on the V710 was not working well during beta testing on the VSW network. IMHO they should never have let this phone hit the store.
As for VSW trying to stop the download of ringtones etc...I just don't think that is true. I don't even have bluetooth and I can get ringtones to my phone for free. There are plenty of ways to bypass the Get It Now service. And yes, I do have verizon!
We will see how this all plays out with the release of several new phones for VSW in the first Q. Several will have bluetooth..."full functioning" according to recent reports. I guess that would throw the "crippling" theory out the window...

V3 and Cingular...blue tooth works great! No fees and no blocking.
