I have a bluetooth flotchie for my phone, mainly becuase it's actually useful.

Pay a few more for a bluteooth flotchie and have:
a) safer driving
b) freedom to roam whilst on the phone at home
c) ability to communicate wirelessly on laptop on skype

the first one alone justified the price, it was a safety issue primarily - then convenience.

Some guy at Scot's work probably posted a thread on another board a few months ago with the title "Just saw one of the accountants with an NSX! "

many people have bluetooth pieces to look cool, even though they are pretty dorky looking.

but people who criticize the pieces, haven't used them correctly. worth to expense ratio is pretty high. it is one of the most worthwhile safety/productivity devices ever bought.

regarding scot's current rant, with the prices of housing (socal) these days, can't blame people for renting forever and spending the rest on misc crap.

I dunno about you guys but Ive been almost run over by more blue collar guys with their blue teeth on my bike than anyone else!

Just today some guy almost ran me over when he was moving from slow to fast and I was RIGHT BESIDE HIM!! I later passed him on the left out of rage and saw his BLUE TEETH! bastage.

On top of that, they look dorky as hell and people just want them to feel important. The safety thing is questionable because I dont think its the *holding the cellphone* part of talking on a cell while driving that is so distracting!

Bluetooth is a protocol. I wish I could have a protocol.

Exactly. They look stupid and I would guess that most people use them to try to impress other people. I agree that the phone call itself is the distracting part, whether they are holding a phone or bluetoothing....

some hot "trainer" at the gym had her bluetooth on while the guy she was training had his one....what retards.... at one point they were both talking.....
