Default just a story for those who believe

I just wanted to share a recent encounter I had. I am somewhat a religious person, and believe in God. I go to church and pray to God on occasion too.

I was going to fly down to Florida by myself to be with my fiancee and her family. they had already traveled to florida for their vacation and I was joining them mid-swing.

I am deathly afraid of flying. I mean it is seriously a phobia. I am horribly afraid of flying. I got on the plane in Milwaukee and sat down, nervous as could be. I'm so scared of flying, that when the plane goes to take off, I get near tears and become so tense. (call me a baby, but this is like a bad phobia for me)

I am on the window seat, as the seat in the middle is empty. The isle seat is taken by a middle aged looking black man who sits down for take off. As we are heading down the runway, I am so wishing God could have sent me a gaurdian angel, as I am sitting there terrified to fly. I just prayed for a gaurdian angel to watch over me.

As we are ascending off the tarmac, I nervously look over and begin a small conversation with the black man sitting next to me. We get to talking, and it helps ease my nerves. Once we are in the air I am better. Taking off and landing is the worst parts for me. I tell the man about my fear of flying, and he assures me it will be ok. We get to talking and I find out that he is a preist. For someone who has faith, that was a reassuring sign for me. However, the part that blows me away is yet to come.

The plane lands and as we are getting off he says it was nice to meet me. As we reach the terminal gate, he says he has to go this way, as I am going the opposite direction. He shakes my hand and the last thing he says is "I'm glad I could be a gaurdian angel for you".

This just blows my mind, and I wanted to share a story of an answered prayer that has made me believe that much more. Thanks for reading.

Little miracles like this happen everyday, you just have to keep your eyes open, but you shouldn't have any fear of flying or anything else for that matter, it is in God's hands anyways, so if he decides it is your time to go, you just have to accept it, and live life without fear, no regrets.....

Hi. My first post on this board. I'm a Mustang owner who blew in from a link from another board. Thought I would register to post in some of the lounge topics. I've been a Christian for about 15 years now (I'm 23) and yet everytime I hear a story like this I get excited. Its so encouraging to know that others are having faith experiences out there.

A lot of people don't believe in prayer because of one of two things.

1. They pray only for what they want, not for what they need. God provides you with what you need, but it certainly may not be what you want.

2. Their prayers are answered but not necessarily in the timing or way they WANT the prayer to be answered. A person might pray for a family member to be released from a disease. That family member might die. The prayer was answered, just not necessarily in the WAY the person was hoping for.

Stories like yours just go to show that not only is God out there, but he is a personal and involved God. No problem is too large for him to handle or too small to escape his notice.

I too love reading stories like this. It makes me remember how lucky I am to be alive today. I can't tell you how many times i should be dead right now, but I'm not. Heck i've even been declared dead once at the hospital, and well I'm here right now typing this. I never really used to think about why I'm still alive, due to all the medical problems I have/had in my short life, until i went to this church thing with my ex. It really opened my eyes.

I am a Wiccan, and see this kind of thing almost daily... when I get up, peek out my window and see the sun, I know that I am alive for another day and that Gaea has provided me enough energy for another day. I consider that a miracle all in itself, because life itself is a miracle.
