Justice, Yes. War, No. (IMO)
I think what some of us fail to realize is that the people that we're dealing with here don't think the same way most of us do. We're not dealing with rationality here, we're dealing with extremists. The only thing that will drive our point home and make sure that this won't happen again is to destroy the root of these problems, not just the problems themselves. Afghanistan has issued threats toward the US which should in itself tell you that they have no idea what they are dealing with. We could erase Afghanistan from the face of the earth in a couple of hours without using Nuclear force. These people are willing to die for the cause and kill at whatever cost to the US. We cannot take the chance that they have Nuclear weapons or have access to Nuclear weapons. Almost all of Afghanistan's surrounding contries are Nuclear capable and we should take this into account when determining our course of action. The only option, as I see it, is to ensure that there will be no more retalliation from Afghanistan since they are harboring the culprit here. The only way to do this is to destroy all of their military capacity.
Hey, I've got an idea. Let's destroy communisism in asia with a show of force. We will all die for a greater good. Let's completely destroy them. How hard can that be. -Vietnam. Show me an enemy during war who is "rational" by our standards. They're all crazy. There is a lot of hatred in this world and that is the real enemy.
Groups that preach and act on Hatred are themselves hated. How many innocent Muslim Americans have been abused this week? That is an example of people acting out of hatred and emotion and not thinking clearly. We all experience this to varying degrees and stopping to examine your own level of emotional attachment versus common sense and intelligence would be a good idea. Experience your emotions and validate them, but don't be controlled by them.
