are you kidding me man. jay z is a successful businessman who happens to rap. to this day he still bites rhymes off biggie and big L. he was a clown when he started, got put on by good MCs, made money, now hes the best rapper. thats as silly as lil wayne saying that shit, and wayne could crap on jay z.

btw, big L, RIP, shat all over jay z. look up the seven minute freestyle. jay z is weak at best.

im not even getting into the many, many underground heads. **** it, look at wutang. gza by himself makes jay z look like a stuttering kid who failed vocabulary. peep the liquid swords album.
hmmm... I don't agree with you at all. I don't like Gza at all. I don't think his lyrics make sense, and I don't like his production quality. To each his own. I think Jay-z's stuff is legendary; and not the stuff that he 'bit' from other rappers. But don't lie to yourself, you know he didn't bite it, he sampled ONE or TWO lines every 10 songs. Not a big deal. Just like he doesn't make a big deal out of that when other rappers do it to him. Ever heard "Bitches and Sisters"? Ever heard "Lyrical Exercise"? "Anything"? "Beach Chair"? "U Dont Know"? "Girls, Girls, Girls"? "Minority Report"? "Brooklyn! (ballin remix)" I think he's very versatile and leagues above most rappers. I like Lil' Waynes freestyles, but he's no Hov. I like his music, though, its nice to ride to.

Nas :

One Mike

Where is the money talk in that?
One Mic, although catchy, is one of the most nonsensical songs ever made. I've grown to almost hate it

Girls, Girls, Girls was basically a remake.. the beat and some of the lyrics (including the hook) were taken from another song, but the original artists elude me right now. I'd have to go listen to it on my pc at home.

Wow!

How about the one from it was written where rapped about the gun?

" How you like me now
it goes blaw its sthe sh!t that moves crowds
making every ghetto foul
i might have took your first child
scarred your life crippled your style
i gave you power
and made you buck wild"

it sampled a different song than the lyrics he sampled on the chorus. the chorus lyrics are from some old dj dave song. and the sampled beat is some other old song. that really doesnt count as a rehash, i dont think. verse lyrics, i'm pretty sure are original.

Kayne is the most overrated rapper in history IMO. I respect him for appealing to a lot of people because the facts are he sells a lot of music. I won't look down on him for an artist because he is obviously better than I am or better than I choose to be. However, his attitude, actions, opinions (especially coming from his past) makes me think he's a fool with 0 credibility in my book.

I'm not a big "50" fan either but at least his first few musical expressions had a lot of heart and power in them.

I have a lot more connections with the older rappers then newer ones. Although often simplistic, old eazy-e, too shorty, etc. is a lot more "real" than today's stuff. Maybe I'm just getting old.
