What's with 808? I've heard Lil' Wayne say it in a few of his tracks, and now Kanye.

All I know about 808 is that it's the area code of Hawai'i, lol.

Edit: The reviews don't seem to hot for the "Coldest Winter" song, but I'll chalk that up to it being a bootleg and all.

Roland TR-808. It's an old drum machine that has that unique "boom" in the synthesized bass drum. The TR-808 and the 909 are still being used in a shitload of music, 30 years on.
