Default kidnapped boys

http://www.smh.com.au/news/world/missing-b...8709597815.html

ok, i was reading this story, and it occurred to me, what would the main reason be for them not running away or finding help when the guy left to go to work. according to the article, there would have been numerous opportunities to get out of the house.
they seem happy that they r now reunitied with their family, but the only reason i can think of was that the kids were happy with the captor.

Maybe they were handcuffed or chained to something in a secret room? You see weird stuff like this on Law & Order: SVU.

all the guy would have to say is, "if you run away I will kill your family." They probably would have no reason to doubt that, and that would keep them from running away. It wouldn't be the first time a threat like that has caused someone to act in a counter-intuitive manner.

Also after 4 years the older boy was probably conditioned to stay. Stockholm syndrome, etc.

Either way this is definitely a miracle and gives alot of hope for those parents whose children are still missing.
